Abstract: The present invention relates to a water leak detection system for continuous monitoring of water pipelines using a paper-based capacitive leak sensor (100). The system comprises a paper-based capacitive leak sensor (100), a capacitance signal conditioning circuit (101), a microcontroller unit (102), a water flow sensor (103), a wireless communication module (104), a cloud data storage and processing platform (105), a user interface (106), and a power supply unit (107). The paper-based capacitive leak sensor (100) detects moisture near pipelines by changes in dielectric constant causing measurable capacitance variation. The capacitance signal conditioning circuit (101) converts the signal into a readable electrical signal for processing by the microcontroller unit (102). The wireless communication module (104) transmits leak alerts to remote monitoring systems. The system enables early leak detection, reduces water losses, supports sustainable infrastructure, and provides low-cost environmentally friendly monitoring.
