MUMBAI, India, Aug. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641099568 A) filed by Indian Institute Of Technology Hyderabad on August 18, 2026, for A Voltage Source Inverter For Reducing Common Mode Voltage.
Inventors include Titus, Jose; and Jegatheesan, Karthickraja.
The application for the patent was published on August 28, 2026, under issue no. 35/2026.
Abstract: ABSTRACT A VOLTAGE SOURCE INVERTER FOR REDUCING COMMON MODE VOLTAGE The present disclosure relates to a voltage source inverter (200) coupled to a DC source (102). The voltage source inverter (200) comprises a three-phase bridge (202) comprising a plurality of bridge switches (S1 to S6), a plurality of auxiliary switches (204), and a controller (206) operatively coupled to the plurality of bridge switches (S1 to S6). The controller (206) selectively connects the three-phase bridge (202) to the DC source (102) for generation of output voltages and electrically isolates the three-phase bridge (202) to enable switching of one or more bridge switches (S1-S6) during transitions between successive output voltages. The bridge-switch commutation while the three-phase bridge (202) is electrically isolated reduces common mode voltage and associated common mode current while maintaining effective output voltage generation. {FIG. 2}
