Abstract: A vision-based aquatic feeding system 100 includes a device 200 including a camera unit 102 to capture real-time images inside an aquarium 114; a feed dispensing mechanism 106 including a feed platform 108 driven by a motor 110; and a microcontroller 104 including at least one database, one or more processors coupled with a memory, and the memory stores one or more instructions executable by the one or more processors to capture real-time data for the feeding zone of the aquarium 114; detect presence of feed granules 204 in the aquarium 114 time-to-time; calculate rate of feed consumption over time based on left over feed granules 204; and regulate feed 204 dispensing based on the calculated consumption velocity and behaviour of fishes.
