Abstract: ABSTRACT [0023] The present invention provides a gesture-based gaming console system that enables natural and touchless interaction with computer programs and games through real-time recognition of body and hand gestures. The system identifies a distinctive joining-hands gesture as a substitute for conventional mouse clicks or key presses, along with additional body movements such as jumping, crouching, and lateral shifts to simulate directional controls. Utilizing the MediaPipe framework for accurate hand and body landmark detection, the system tracks twenty-one key points on each hand and thirty-three body landmarks to determine posture and motion. A threshold-based algorithm calculates the Euclidean distance between wrist landmarks of both hands; when this distance falls below a calibrated threshold, the gesture is validated and triggers corresponding actions. These actions are executed via the PyAutoGUI library, which automates mouse and keyboard events to translate detected gestures into input commands for interactive software. The architecture ensures low-latency performance suitable for real-time gameplay, with visual feedback overlaid on the webcam feed. Testing across varied lighting conditions, user orientations, and body types confirmed reliable recognition accuracy. This approach advances contactless interfaces for gaming, interactive media, and accessibility applications by combining computer vision, geometric analysis, and automation libraries into a cohesive, webcam-only solution that enhances immersion and usability.
