Abstract: The present disclosure relates to methods for manufacturing a unitary rear ring of a vehicle framework, the rear ring substantially completely surrounding a back door opening of the vehicle. The method comprises providing a plurality of blanks, joining the blanks to each other to form a combined blank, and deforming the combined blank to form the unitary rear ring. The unitary rear ring includes first and second rear pillar portions each connected to a front cross member and to a rear cross member to form a substantially closed ring shape. The present disclosure further relates to unitary rear rings obtainable by such methods.
