MUMBAI, India, Oct. 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641116088 A) filed by Aditya University; Aditya College Of Pharmacy A; and Aditya Degree College on September 28, 2026, for A Turf Plugger Device With Controlled Penetration For Core Extraction And Release And Method Thereof.
Inventors include Dr. Gulivindala Suresh; Dr. Narla Venkata Lalitha; Bodapati Raju; and Alluri Samyul.
The application for the patent was published on October 02, 2026, under issue no. 40/2026.
Abstract: The present disclosure proposes a turf plugger device (100) configured to enable controlled turf penetration, extraction, and release of turf cores, thereby reducing direct downward force, improving operational stability, minimizing manual intervention, and enhancing efficiency during turf maintenance operations. The turf plugger device (100) comprises a handle (102), a holder (104), a rotating assembly (106), a cam member (114), a plugger (116), and a compression member (118). The turf plugger device (100) converts user-applied rotational input into controlled linear displacement of the plugger (116) and coordinates turf penetration, temporary engagement of the turf core by one or more gripping pins (122), extraction of the turf core, and passive release of the turf core through a coordinated operating sequence, thereby improving consistency during successive turf-maintenance cycles and reducing separate extraction and release operations.
