MUMBAI, India, June 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202431026240 A) filed by Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited on March 29, 2024, for A Turbine Valve Assembly For Regulating High-Pressure Steam Flow Within An Intermediate Pressure Turbine System.

Abstract: The IP turbine valve assembly (100) plays a critical role in regulating high-pressure steam flow within a turbine system. Beginning with the steam inlet (10), pressurized steam enters through a dedicated inlet pipe (11) towards the IP control valve (300), modulating flow rate and pressure. Downstream, the IP stop valve or interceptor valve (200) halts steam flow during maintenance or emergencies, controlled by an actuator (15). Both valves are supported by sturdy structures, ensuring stability and alignment within the assembly. After exiting the turbine, steam undergoes expansion and condensation, driving efficient electricity generation. The assembly, comprising three main sub-assemblies and integrated brackets, offers a comprehensive solution. Valves are meticulously designed with components and actuators to regulate steam flow precisely. Proper sealing between the valves and their seats (208) ensures optimal performance and reliability. This invention represents a significant advancement in turbine technology, enhancing performance and sustainability in power generation.
