Inventors include Dr. R. Nithyatharani; Dr. S. Revathi Chitra; Dr. Geeta D; Dr. Dande Swapna Sree; Dr. P. Sumithira; Dr. Sahila. M. M; Dr. Shainy Nhattuketty Krishnan; and Dr. R. Krishnan.

The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.

Abstract: The disclosure relates to a candidate microbial biocontrol composition comprising a viable, authenticated Trichoderma glaucum isolate and a compatible carrier, and to a method for evaluating the isolate against an Aspergillus nidulans test isolate recovered from a coconut-field environment. The method includes preparing standardised inocula, positioning the organisms on a common culture medium in a dual-culture arrangement, incubating under documented conditions, measuring test-isolate growth against a control and calculating a defined inhibition value. The workflow may further include carrier-based formulation, identity confirmation, viability and contamination checks, and storage-stability assessment. The disclosure emphasises traceable isolates, reproducible controls and reporting of experimental parameters. The effectiveness, safety, formulation stability and field utility of any particular isolate or composition require experimental validation; no quantitative result is asserted in the absence of supporting data.
