MUMBAI, India, Sept. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511021017 A) filed by Perovskite Innovation Pvt. Ltd. on March 08, 2025, for A Transparent Electrode For Bifacial Perovskite Solar Cells.
Inventors include Prof. Soumitra Satapathi; Dr. Mohammad Adil Afroz; and Ms. Ankita Sengupta.
The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to the transparent electrode for bifacial perovskite solar cells. The innovation involves a dielectric-metal-dielectric (DMD) based transparent electrode (b) for bifacial perovskite solar cell devices. The innovation involves cost-effective and industry compatible electrode structure using organic material such as bathocuproine (BCP) and silver (Ag) having a transparency that is comparable to commercial transparent fluorine doped tin oxide (FTO) and indium doped tin oxide (ITO) electrodes. The fabricated electrodes have similar sheet resistance to FTO and ITO substrates. Present invention uses bathocuproine and silver, which are non-toxic, biocompatible and environmentally friendly.
