MUMBAI, India, Aug. 17 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202631094472 A) filed by National Institute Of Technology Jamshedpur on August 04, 2026, for A Thermo-Hydraulic Heat Transfer System And Method For Operating The Same.
Inventors include Kumari, Anuradha; and Kumar, Dr. Parmanand.
The application for the patent was published on August 14, 2026, under issue no. 33/2026.
Abstract: A THERMO-HYDRAULIC HEAT TRANSFER SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR OPERATING THE SAME The present disclosure relates to a thermo-hydraulic heat transfer system (300) comprising a heat exchanger tube (100) having an internal dimpled surface (102), a perforated twisted tape (200) disposed within the heat exchanger tube, a fluid circulation arrangement, and a hybrid nanofluid comprising a base fluid, copper oxide (CuO) nanoparticles, and aluminium oxide (Al2O3) nanoparticles. The perforated twisted tape (200) comprises a twisted strip (202) having a plurality of perforations (204) configured to generate swirling flow and permit controlled cross-flow of the circulating hybrid nanofluid. The internal dimpled surface (102) generates localized recirculation regions adjacent to the inner wall of the heat exchanger tube. The hybrid nanofluid passing through the plurality of perforations (204) is directed into the recirculation regions to promote fluid mixing, disrupt thermal boundary layers, and enhance convective heat transfer, thereby improving the overall thermo-hydraulic performance of the heat exchanger.
