MUMBAI, India, June 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202617037759 A) filed by Megger Instruments Ltd on March 27, 2026, for A Test Meter Configured To Perform A Test Of Insulation Resistance Of A Device.
Inventors include Jones, Jeffrey; Zurek, Stanislaw; Waller, Chris; and Swinerd, Paul.
The application for the patent was published on June 19, 2026, under issue no. 25/2026.
Abstract: A test meter (1) comprises a voltage generation circuit (5) configured to cause a unipolar voltage to be applied to a device during a unipolar test of insulation resistance of the device. A discharge switch (6) is controllable to discharge the unipolar voltage, the discharge switch (6) having an impedance that is controllable by a switch control signal. A switch control circuit (7) is configured to generate the switch control signal, the switch control circuit (7) being configured to be powered by a power source. The discharge switch (6) comprises a series arrangement of transistors (21a-21e) configured to default to a state to discharge the unipolar voltage in an event that the power source does not supply power to the switch control circuit (7).
