MUMBAI, India, Sept. 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611086811 A) filed by Indian Institute Of Technology Ropar on July 15, 2026, for A Temperature-Invariant Dielectric-Loaded Plasmonic Bragg Reflector.

Inventors include Danveer Singh; and Shivani Semwal.

The application for the patent was published on September 11, 2026, under issue no. 37/2026.

Abstract: A dielectric-loaded plasmonic Bragg reflector (DL-PBR) (100) is disclosed that exhibits a temperature-invariant optical response over a wide range of temperature. The device is based on the subwavelength plasmonic waveguide integrated with Bragg reflector. It comprises a metal film supporting a surface plasmon polariton (SPP) mode and a periodically patterned dielectric loading stack formed by at least two dielectric materials having thermo-optic coefficients of opposite sign and/or different magnitude. The disclosed DL-PBR supports compact, CMOS-compatible, and fabrication-tolerant integrated photonic components including optical filters, reflectors, resonators, and sensing devices. The invention is suitable for photonic, plasmonic, and optoelectronic systems operating in thermally fluctuating or extreme environments and may be configured for operation at target wavelengths including approximately 1.543 µm and other spectral regions.
