MUMBAI, India, June 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641069997 A) filed by Christ University on June 04, 2026, for A Technical Method And Decision Support Framework For Climate Risk Assessment And Climate Resilient (rcda).

Inventors include Suhaas M; and Subramanian S.

The application for the patent was published on June 19, 2026, under issue no. 25/2026.

Abstract: A technical analytical method and decision-support framework for climate risk assessment and climate-resilient crop planning using Recommended Crop Deviation Analysis (RCDA). The invention integrates scientifically recommended cropping systems with observed cropping behaviour to evaluate agricultural vulnerability and climate production risk. The method acquires climate variables, including minimum temperature, maximum temperature, and rainfall, along with agro-climatic zone- wise recommended crop data and observed cropping· pattern data. A Recommended Crop Deviation Index (RCDI) is computed using the formula: RCDI = 1 - (Area under Recommended Crops I Total Cultivated Area). The computed RCDI is integrated into a vulnerability assessment framework comprising Exposure, Sensitivity, and Adaptive Capacity indicators to generate composite climate production risk signals. The framework further produces decision-support outputs, including vulnerability rankings, maladaptation alerts, adaptation priority classifications, and climate-resilient crop planning recommendations. The invention may be implemented through manual analytical processes, digital systems, or hybrid decision-support platforms for agricultural policy and climate adaptation planning.
