Abstract: A tamper-evident closure assembly includes a cap (20) configured to be coupled to a bottle neck (30), an outer visible seal (12) associated with the cap (20), a pull tab (140) releasably retained by a latch (150), and outer partially breakable tabs (16) positioned at a base of the outer visible seal (12). Pulling the pull tab (140) from the latch (150) deforms and partially breaks the outer partially breakable tabs (16) while a seal ring (22) remains attached to a bottle (10) or the bottle neck (30). The closure assembly further includes inner breakable tabs (18) configured to break when the cap (20) is unscrewed from the bottle neck (30). An inner ridge (14) of the cap (20) retains broken seal pieces generated by breakage of the inner breakable tabs (18).
