Abstract: ABSTRACT “A TAILGATE OPERATING MECHANISM OF A VEHICLE AND A VEHICLE THEREOF” 5 Present disclosure discloses a tailgate operating mechanism (100) of a vehicle. The mechanism (100) includes a first bracket (102) fastened to a body of the vehicle and a second bracket (104) fastened to a tailgate (200) and pivotably coupled to the first bracket by a shaft (106). The second bracket is displaceable between a first position (FP) and a second position (SP). The mechanism includes a stopper (108) movably disposed within the first bracket and a cable. One 10 end of the cable is connected to the stopper and a length of the cable is adapted to wind and unwind around the shaft based on displacement of the stopper. A resilient member (112) is within the stopper and around the cable connected to the stopper. The resilient member is displaced by the stopper upon displacement of the second bracket from the first position to the second position for operating the tailgate.
