Abstract: A system (100) to control closing of a vehicle door (102), that enhances safety and convenience during door operation includes a door control unit (104) that determines position of the door (102) as open or closed and monitors an initial manual closing action. When the door (102) approaches a predefined angle, for instance, 15 degrees or less, a spring (108) attached to a door checker band (106) compresses, signaling the door control unit (104) to actuate a driving unit (110). Upon actuation, the driving unit (110) enables a soft-close function that gently completes the door closure, preventing finger-pinch injuries. The system (100) provides an efficient, reliable solution for injury prevention and enhanced comfort, improving the user experience with controlled, automated door closure.
