MUMBAI, India, Sept. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541050037 A) filed by Manipal Academy Of Higher Education on August 24, 2025, for A System For Thermally-Dependent Power Control Of A Battery Pack And Method Of Operation Thereof.
Inventor includes Varun Jayram.
The application for the patent was published on September 18, 2026, under issue no. 38/2026.
Abstract: A Battery Management and Thermal Control System (101) for a solar-powered electric vehicle mainly comprises a Master Control Module (301), a plurality of Slave Monitoring Modules (303), an Inter-Module Communication Unit (305), an External Communication Module (307), and a Thermal Management Module (309). The Master Control Module (301) determines a permissible power limit based on a temperature detected by the Slave Monitoring Modules (303), and reduces an allowable battery power upon the temperature approaching a thermal warning threshold, inhibiting a charging or discharging path upon a critical protection threshold being crossed. In absence of a critical condition, the Master Control Module (301) selects derating factors based on a remaining charge level and a degradation level, applies these to the permissible power limit, and generates a motor current control signal limiting current draw at a motor controller, thereby translating calculated battery parameters into a real-time protective and power-limiting action.
