MUMBAI, India, Oct. 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641115477 A) filed by National Institute Of Technology-Warangal on September 26, 2026, for A System For Split-Bus Physiological Data Acquisition, Edge Inference And Priority-Based Telemetry.

Inventors include Dr. Mohammad Farukh Hashmi; Pinagadi Meghana; and Rishwik Mylabathula.

The application for the patent was published on October 02, 2026, under issue no. 40/2026.

Abstract: The present invention discloses an edge-to-cloud healthcare telemetry system (100) for continuous monitoring of physiological conditions of a patient. The system comprises a split bus sensor architecture (102) including a first communication bus (104) connected to an electrocardiogram sensing module (106) and a second communication bus (108) connected to a motion sensing module (110). A microcontroller (112) connected to a pulse oximetry sensing module (114) and a body temperature sensing module (116) generates vital-sign data and transfers the data to an edge processing unit (118). The edge processing unit (118) identifies cardiac abnormalities, fall events, hypoxia, and fever from the received physiological data. A data security unit (120) encrypts the patient monitoring information before transmission through a secure communication unit (122). A dual-path communication unit (124) forwards monitoring and emergency alert information to a gateway unit (126), which stores patient monitoring information in a cloud storage unit (128) and delivers alerts to a physician monitoring device (130).
