MUMBAI, India, Sept. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641113368 A) filed by Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan College Of Engineering on September 22, 2026, for A System For Solar-Powered Autonomous Grass Cutting.

Inventors include Mr Kumaran V; Deepak Kumar; Harsh Raj; Ranjit Kumar; and Suraj Kumar Ram.

The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.

Abstract: The igured to perform intelligent lawn maintenance operations using renewable energy and robotic automation technologies. The system comprises a solar energy harvesting subsystem, an energy storage subsystem, a robotic mobility platform, a grass cutting subsystem, a navigation and control subsystem, and an obstacle detection subsystem. Photovoltaic solar panels generate electrical energy that is stored within rechargeable batteries and supplied to the robotic platform for propulsion and grass cutting operations. An autonomous navigation subsystem regulates movement and operational pathways while obstacle detection sensors identify environmental obstructions and modify movement trajectories accordingly. The grass cutting subsystem utilizes a rotating blade mechanism to trim vegetation efficiently with reduced human intervention. The invention provides environmentally sustainable lawn maintenance, reduced fossil fuel dependency, minimized operational noise, and improved energy efficiency through integration of solar energy harvesting and intelligent robotic grass cutting technologies.
