Abstract: ABSTRACT A SYSTEM FOR SHIFTING GEARS IN A VEHICLE The present invention relates to a system (100) for shifting gears in a vehicle. The system comprises a first gear shift member (102), a gear shift cam body (106) and one or more time delay mechanisms (118, 120, 218, 220). The first gear shift member (102) is operably connected to a gear shift lever (104). The gear shift cam body (106) is configured with the first gear shift member (102). The one or more time delay mechanisms (118, 120, 218, 220) are configured with at least one of the first gear shift member (102) and the gear shift cam body (106) to initially delay rotation of gear shift cam body (106) upon rotation of the first gear shift member (102) to allow relative motion between the gear shift cam body (106) and the first gear shift member (102) for a predefined angular rotation of the first gear shift member (102).
