Abstract: The present invention relates to a system (100) and method (200) for providing braking assistance in a vehicle (10). The system has one or more sensors (110) to detect one or more parameters corresponding to the vehicle (10) in real-time and a vehicle control assembly (120) to control one or more vehicle operating conditions of the vehicle (10). The system (100) has a control unit (130) to receive the one or more parameters and determine a time to collision (T1) of the vehicle (10). The control unit (130) is configured to compare, the determined time (T1) with a set of predetermined time (T2) to collision of the vehicle (10) and control the vehicle control assembly (120) corresponding to the one or more vehicle operating conditions, based on the comparison of the determined time (T1) with the set of predetermined time (T2) to collision of the vehicle (10).
