MUMBAI, India, Sept. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641108616 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology on September 10, 2026, for A System For Physiological Mental-State Analysis And Adaptive Music Recommendation And Method Thereof.
Inventors include Sweta Bhattacharya; Sanket Dey; and Subarta Ghosh.
The application for the patent was published on September 18, 2026, under issue no. 38/2026.
Abstract: The present disclosure proposes a system (100) for explainable physiological mental-state analysis and Indian Classical Raga recommendation that integrates multimodal physiological, behavioral, and environmental feature processing, explainable machine-learning classification, Valence-Arousal mapping, quantitative Raga matching, and adaptive post-exposure feedback for traceable personalized recommendation. The system (100) comprises an input acquisition and preprocessing module (110), a mental-state classification module (112), an explainability module (114), a target-state determination module (116), a Raga data repository (118), a Raga matching module (120), an explanation generation module (122), an output interface module (124), and a post-exposure reassessment module (126). The system (100) processes sensor-derived information to determine a mental-state label, map the state to a target Valence-Arousal representation, identify ranked Indian Classical Ragas, generate human-readable explanations, and update recommendations through closed-loop reassessment.
