Abstract: ABSTRACT A system (212) for operating a hood (200) of a vehicle (100) is described. The system includes an actuation unit (208) coupled with a locking unit of the hood. A detection module (204) disposed at a pre-determined position along a frontal structure (104) of the vehicle. The detection module is configured to receive a tactile request from a user of the vehicle for operating the hood selectively between a released position and a locked position. An electronic control unit (206) is communicatively coupled to the actuation unit and the detection module. The electronic control unit is configured to receive a signal from the detection module corresponding to the tactile request from the user of the vehicle. Upon receiving the signal, the electronic control unit operates the actuation unit to move the hood selectively between the released position and the locked position relative to the frame of the vehicle.
