MUMBAI, India, Aug. 10 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621071080 A) filed by Ramdeobaba University, Nagpur; Shri Ramdeobaba College Of Engineering And Management, Nagpur; Lande, Vipul; Chouksey, Ritika; and Sen, Gayatri on June 08, 2026, for A System For Multi-Plane Angle Detection, Correction, And Quality Inspection Of A Mechanical Component.
Inventors include Lande, Vipul; Chouksey, Ritika; and Sen, Gayatri.
The application for the patent was published on July 31, 2026, under issue no. 31/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a system (100) for multi-plane angle detection, correction, and quality inspection of a mechanical component (200). The system (100) comprises an image acquisition unit (110) including cameras (102) positioned to capture images of the mechanical component (200). A processing unit (130) is communicatively coupled to the image acquisition unit (110) and comprises processors configured to execute image processing and geometric computation operations. The system (100) includes pre-processing module (112) for contrast enhancement and sub-pixel refinement, feature extraction module (114) for detecting edges, lines, plane detection module (116) for identifying reference planes, and perspective correction module (118) to compensate for distortions due to misalignment in the camera (102) and mechanical component (200). An angle computation module (120) calculates angles of the mechanical component (200), and output and control module (150) generates inspection results with pass/fail decisions. The system (100) performs non-contact, marker-less, real-time multi-plane angle inspection.
