MUMBAI, India, Sept. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202531024260 A) filed by Tp Western Odisha Distribution Limited Tpwodl on March 18, 2025, for A System For Monitoring An Electrical Substation And A Method Thereof.

Inventors include Mane, Ganesh Murlidhar; and Kumar, Anil.

The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.

Abstract: ABSTRACT A SYSTEM FOR MONITORING AN ELECTRICAL SUBSTATION AND A METHOD THEREOF The present disclosure relates to a system (100) for monitoring electrical substation equipped with a plurality of electrical equipments. The system (100) comprises a plurality of control units (20) and a control centre (30). The control units (20) are electrically coupled to the electrical equipments (10) to measure real-time parameters, detect fault events, generate fault alerts, and issue trip signals to isolate faulty electrical equipments (10). The control centre (30) includes a remote terminal unit (RTU) (40) to receive the measured real-time parameter values and fault alerts from the respective control units. Additionally, an interface (50) is connected to the RTU (40) to enable operators to monitor real-time electrical parameters, remotely control the isolation of faulty electrical equipments (10), and diagnose fault events. The system (100) enhances fault detection and isolation capabilities, improving substation reliability and reducing downtime.
