MUMBAI, India, Aug. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202421102187 A) filed by Forbes Marshall Technology Pvt. Ltd. on December 23, 2024, for A System For Measuring Dust Concentration In Flue Gases.
Inventors include S. K. Karthick Kumar; and Vinay Swakul.
The application for the patent was published on August 07, 2026, under issue no. 32/2026.
Abstract: ABSTRACT A SYSTEM FOR MEASURING DUST CONCENTRATION IN FLUE GASES A system (100) for measuring dust concentrations in flue gases is disclosed. The system comprises a sampling probe (10) inserted into a flue gas duct (5) to extract a sample containing dust and moisture. The extracted flue gas is conveyed via an inlet conduit (15) to a swirl chamber (20) having a cavity (20a), a tangential inlet port (20b), and an outlet port (20c). At least one heating unit (30) is thermally coupled to the cavity (20a) to heat the swirling flue gas, vaporizing moisture and producing a conditioned, de-moisturized sample. A measurement unit (35) downstream of the swirl chamber (20) detects dust particles and generates measurement signal. A processing unit (40) computes dust concentration based on these signals and outputs the data. An outlet conduit (45), concentrically arranged around the inlet conduit (15), exhausts the de-moisturized flue gas and pre-heating the incoming extracted flue gas.
