The first component (102) is identified by a variant identifier corresponding to a variant of the vehicle (10) and transmits the variant identifier. The system (100) has a plurality of control units (104) disposed in the vehicle (10) and communicably coupled to the first component (102). The plurality of control units (104) receives the variant identifier from the first component (102), detect one or more features of the vehicle (10), and perform one of activate and deactivate one or more control structures within the plurality of control units (104) based on the received variant identifier to one of enable and disable the one or more features in the vehicle (10).
