Abstract: ABSTRACT A SYSTEM FOR INDIVIDUAL RECOGNITION USING ELECTROENCEPHALOGRAPHY (EEG) SIGNALS AND A METHOD THEREOF The present disclosure relates to a system (100) and a method (300) for individual recognition using electroencephalography (EEG) signals. The system (100) comprises an EEG signal acquisition interface (102), a signal processing module (104), a spatial processing module (106), a feature processing module (108), a classification module (110) comprising a plurality of machine-learning classifiers (110a), a recognition module (112), and an authentication module (114). The signal processing module (104) preprocesses and temporally segments the EEG signals into short-duration EEG segments. The spatial processing module (106) spatially partitions the EEG signals according to cortical regions, and the feature processing module (108) determines identity-discriminative characteristics. The plurality of machine-learning classifiers (110a) generates classification scores that are combined using soft voting to determine an individual-recognition result. The system (100) further supports non-region-wise analysis for comparison with region-wise recognition performance and facilitates authentication based on an enrolled identity.
