Abstract: ABSTRACT TITLE: A SYSTEM FOR IN-SITU REINFORCEMENT DEPOSITION FRICTION STIR PROCESSING FOR SURFACE COMPOSITE FABRICATION. The present invention relates to a system for in-situ reinforcement deposition friction stir processing(IRDFSP) system is an advanced approach for fabricating surface composites by simultaneously introducing and integrating reinforcement particles into a metallic substrate. This innovative system integrates a powder feeder with a conventional FSP tool, enabling real-time deposition and uniform distribution of reinforcement materials into the substrate matrix. The process begins with the rotation of the auger screw and the FSP tool, both driven by the machine spindle. The auger probe plunges into the substrate, creating a cavity while transporting and depositing reinforcement particles at a controlled rate. Simultaneously, the FSP tool, positioned slightly behind the feeder, follows the deposition path, effectively mixing the reinforcement particles with the softened matrix through intense stirring and mechanical intermixing.
