Abstract: A system (100) for handling wear particles (P) from a brake unit of a vehicle. The system (100) includes a suction unit (200), and a hydro-collector (300). The suction unit (200) is positioned adjacent to a brake caliper (BC) of the brake unit. The suction unit (200) is configured to collect the wear particles (P) during deceleration of the vehicle. The hydro-collector (300) contains at least a pre-defined volume of liquid (L) and is fluidly connected to the suction unit (200) to receive the wear particles (P) to form a mixture (M) of the wear particles (P) and the liquid (L), to allow draining out the wear particles. The system (100) ensures the complete draining of the wear particles (P) from the hydro-collector (300) in a convenient and easier manner and avoids complications due to presence of high- temperature wear particles (P).
