The enclosure (10) is configured for edge- cloud collaborative computing by enabling receipt of workloads from the cloud interface unit (50), execution of the workloads at the enclosure (10) and synchronization of processed outputs with cloud interface unit (50). The enclosure (10) is deployable in a cluster- based deployment to provide scalable and distributed AI acceleration. The workload management unit (70) is configured to operate in at least one of a standalone mode, a distributed cluster mode, or a cloud-integrated mode.
