MUMBAI, India, July 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641079871 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology, Chennai on June 29, 2026, for A System For Emergency Triage And Hospital Routing Within An Ambulance.
Inventors include Hrishikesh R; C A Cavin Chandran; Sowmya Arunachalam; and Siva Priya.
The application for the patent was published on July 03, 2026, under issue no. 27/2026.
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a system (100) for emergency triage and hospital routing within an ambulance. The system (100) includes a control unit (110), a biosensor patch (102) acquiring physiological signals as time-series data, an audio-visual sensing unit (104) capturing visual data and audio data, a paramedic input interface (106) receiving clinical data, and a positioning unit (108) determining location data and an estimated arrival time. The control unit (110) produces a risk score through a cross-attention-based inference engine and jointly re-determines a candidate hospital and a transport route on a combined change in the risk score and a change in at least one of a traffic condition, the estimated arrival time, or a hospital acceptance status. The present disclosure enables integrated, dynamic, and network-independent emergency triage and hospital routing within an ambulance, operating on processing resources local to the ambulance without dependency on external network connectivity.
