Abstract: ABSTRACT A SYSTEM FOR EEG-BASED SCHIZOPHRENIA DETECTION USING DISTRIBUTED-ACTIVATION BILSTM, STATISTICAL MULTI-HEAD ATTENTION, AND STOCHASTIC GUIDED FORAGING OPTIMIZATION Disclosed is a computer-implemented system and method for automated detection of schizophrenia from electroencephalogram (EEG) signals. Raw EEG data acquired from a subject is preprocessed to remove noise and subjected to hybrid feature extraction to obtain statistical and time-frequency features capturing time-domain and frequency-domain information. The extracted features are provided to a deep learning detection model including a bidirectional long short-term memory architecture with distributed activation functions across layers and statistical multi-head attention to capture informative signal regions and inter-region relationships. Model parameters is tuned using stochastic guided foraging optimization to reduce local optima, and an output classification indicates normal or schizophrenic condition. Fig. 1
