MUMBAI, India, June 30 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641074146 A) filed by Velankani Information Systems Private Limited on June 15, 2026, for A System For Driving A Switched Reluctance Motor.
Inventor includes Kudligi, Srinivas.
The application for the patent was published on June 26, 2026, under issue no. 26/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a system (100) for driving a switched reluctance motor (40). The system (100) includes a DC link (10), a DC–DC converter (20), a commutation bridge (30), a plurality of phase windings (40a), and a control unit (50). The DC link (10) is configured to receive electrical power from at least one of a DC source or a rectified AC source (12). The DC–DC converter (20) operates at a first switching frequency to regulate a voltage supplied from the DC link (10). The commutation bridge (30) is electrically coupled between the DC–DC converter (20) and the plurality of phase windings (40a). The commutation bridge (30) operates at a second switching frequency lower than the first switching frequency. The control unit (50) is configured to control voltage regulation and phase commutation so that high-frequency switching is confined to the DC–DC converter (20).
