The application for the patent was published on August 14, 2026, under issue no. 33/2026.
Abstract: A method of determining a seed vigor classification of rice seeds, performed by a system (100), begins with a processor (201) receiving a digital image of a plurality of rice seeds captured by a visual data capturing unit (209), then processing the image to detect each seed, isolate its seed body from the background, and standardize its orientation and dimension into a standardized seed image. The image quality is then validated, and a non-conforming image is excluded from further processing. Surviving images are examined for defects to determine a severity classification, and further assessed for a germination classification. The seed vigor classification is then determined by jointly evaluating both classifications together, such that it is not obtainable from either alone, before resulting decision-support data is transmitted via a user interface (207).
