The system (100) comprises a sensing unit (120) disposed in an air intake path (110). The sensing unit (120) is configured to detect a parameter associated with the air intake path (110), wherein the sensing unit (120) is positioned downstream of the air filter (112) in the air intake path (110) in a flow direction of intake air. At least one processor (130) is communicatively coupled with the sensing unit (120) and is configured to receive the parameter associated with the air intake path (110) from the sensing unit (120); compare the parameter with a predetermined threshold; and determine the clogging of the air filter (112) based on comparison of the parameter with the predetermined threshold.
