Abstract: A system for cell culture and crystallization processes in microgravity [0084] The present invention discloses a CubeSat spacecraft system for high-throughput on-orbit protein crystallization under microgravity conditions. The system comprises a CubeSat microsatellite spacecraft accommodating a crystallization chamber having a microfluidic module with a plurality of crystallization wells, each including a primary reservoir for a protein solution, a secondary reservoir for a crystallization cocktail solution, and a diffusion bridge for controlled supersaturation. The system further comprises a temperature module, a sensor module, an optomechanical module, a data collection module, and a biaxial gimbal system. The coordinated operation of these components facilitates controlled protein crystal nucleation and growth, real-time optical monitoring, onboard processing of crystallization data, and transmission of processed data to one or more ground stations during on-orbit operation under microgravity conditions.
