MUMBAI, India, Aug. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611083441 A) filed by Graphic Era Hill University, Dehradun on July 07, 2026, for A System For Automated Monitoring And Management Of Inter-Dialytic Fluid Accumulation And Blood Pressure.

Inventors include Dr. Luxmi Sapra; Dr. Varun Sapra; and Sarthak Pundir.

The application for the patent was published on August 28, 2026, under issue no. 35/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a system and method for automated monitoring and management of inter-dialytic fluid accumulation and blood pressure in dialysis patients using integrated smart footwear. The system comprises a footwear form factor including an insole, midsole, and outsole, a biomechanical sensing module with piezoresistive force-sensing resistors in heel, midfoot, and forefoot regions coupled to an analog front end, a hemodynamic monitoring module employing an oscillometric cuff assembly or reflective photoplethysmography sensor, a data processing module that estimates fluid accumulation relative to a stored dry-weight baseline and derives blood pressure values, a communication and geospatial module with GNSS receiver and Bluetooth Low Energy/GSM transceiver, and a power management module with rechargeable battery and battery-management IC. Physiological threshold violations trigger encrypted transmission of fluid, hemodynamic, and geolocation data to a remote server.
