MUMBAI, India, July 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611057286 A) filed by Dr. Rakesh Kumar Sehgal; and Dr. Vaibhav Saran on May 05, 2026, for A System For Anti-Forensic Detection And Digital Evidence Reconstruction.

Abstract: The invention discloses a hardware-integrated system for detecting anti-forensic activities and reconstructing digital evidence. The system comprises evidence source devices (101), an evidence acquisition interface (102), hardware write-blocking unit (103), forensic processing controller (104), secure evidence storage unit / evidence vault (105), anti-forensic detection engine (106), entropy and pattern analysis module (107), evidence reconstruction engine (108), multi-parameter scoring engine (109), cryptographic verification module (110), secure report generation module (111), and display / examiner console (112). The system acquires digital evidence in a read-only forensic mode, detects timestamp manipulation, log discontinuity, metadata inconsistency, wiping activity, overwriting patterns, and abnormal entropy regions. The reconstruction engine (108) restores deleted, fragmented, corrupted, or manipulated artefacts using signature matching, metadata correlation, journal recovery, slack-space extraction, and redundancy extraction. The scoring engine (109) computes an Anti-Forensic Activity Score based on weighted forensic indicators. The report module (111) generates tamper-evident reports. (Accompanied Figure No. 1-4)
