Abstract: The present invention relates to a system (100) for adaptive spoken English learning and assessment. The system (100) comprises a learner interaction module (10) for receiving a spoken English response, a speech recognition module (20) for generating a transcription, and a multi-dimensional spoken English evaluation engine (30) for evaluating grammatical correctness, pronunciation quality, response completeness, vocabulary usage, and sentence quality. An adaptive feedback generation module (40) identifies learner-specific errors and generates personalized corrective guidance based on current and previous learner performance. A progressive hinting module (50) determines a guidance level according to a number of attempts and progressively increases specificity of hints upon successive attempts. A learning interface (60) presents corrective guidance and hints to the learner. The system (100) thereby adaptively provides assessment and guidance based on the spoken response, learner performance, and repeated learning attempts.
