MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611108978 A) filed by Sanjay; and Dr. Sudesh Kumari on September 10, 2026, for A System And Process For Manufacturing Moisture-Resistant Gaucrete Masonry Units For Sustainable Housing.

The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.
Abstract: The present invention discloses a system and process for manufacturing moisture-resistant Gaucrete masonry units for sustainable housing using cow dung, mud and slaked lime. A cow-dung feedstock is conditioned to reduce non-uniform agglomeration, combined with metered mud and slaked lime, and mixed to form a Gaucrete mixture. At least one process condition, preferably moisture condition, is sensed and supplied to a controller that adjusts moisture addition, dry-mineral addition, mixing duration and/or a compaction condition before pressure moulding. The moulded units are progressively air cured without kiln firing and are thereafter classified using one or more properties including compressive strength, water absorption, density, dimensional consistency, thermal behaviour or fire resistance. A batch-record module can associate raw-material source data, sensed process conditions, moulding settings, curing data and finished-unit properties so that subsequent production settings can be adapted to natural variability of cow dung and earthen materials. The coordinated process provides repeatable production, improved strength-moisture balance, reduced dependence on high-temperature firing and beneficial utilisation of agricultural residue for housing construction.
