The processor (201) is configured to acquire orientation information from the motion sensor (207a) and gesture information from the touch input interface (207b), generate orientation control data and gesture control data therefrom, encode the data into signalling suitable for transmission through a cellular voice communication channel, and transmit the encoded signalling through the communication interface (205) during an active cellular voice call, wherein the remote device (103) is configured to decode the signalling and perform control operations thereon.
