The application for the patent was published on August 28, 2026, under issue no. 35/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a system (100) for secure trading of municipal energy efficiency gains using blockchain and smart meter data. The system (100) includes one or more IoT-enabled smart meters (104) installed at predefined locations of a municipal infrastructure asset (101) selected from a public lighting system (102) and an electric vehicle charging station (103), the one or more IoT-enabled smart meters (104) conducting a Baseline Energy Consumption Assessment and recording post-intervention energy consumption data. A Secure Data Transmission Module (105) encrypts and transmits data to cloud-based server infrastructure (106) having a cloud database (107). A backend server (108) retrieves the data, while a Measurement and Verification mechanism (109) determines verified energy savings and corresponding Carbon Emission Reduction. A permissioned blockchain platform (110) stores verified data, one or more smart contracts (111) create an MS-ESCert (115), and an integrated trading platform (112) records transfer thereof between authorized participants.
