MUMBAI, India, June 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641072769 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology on June 11, 2026, for A System And Method For Regional Skill-Based Academic Syllabus Obsolescence Prediction.

Inventors include Charanya R; and R. Magendiran G.

The application for the patent was published on June 19, 2026, under issue no. 25/2026.

Abstract: The present disclosure proposes a system (100) that is adapted for regional skill demand modeling, curriculum–industry alignment analysis, and prediction of academic syllabus obsolescence using multi-factor risk computation. The system (100) comprises a computing device (102) having a processor (104) and a memory (106) for storing one or more instructions executable by the processor (104). The processor (104) is configured to execute plurality of modules (108) in a distributed computing environment through parallel processing of regional job datasets and syllabus repositories, for enabling region-specific prediction of syllabus obsolescence through integrated multi-factor analytical processing of curriculum data and job market data at city-level granularity. The system (100) facilitates automated curriculum update recommendations based on predictive analysis of emerging and declining skills. The system (100) performs multi-factor analytical processing, including demand trends, stability evaluation, and curriculum–industry mismatch detection to generate accurate obsolescence indicators.
