MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641124587 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology on October 15, 2026, for A System And Method For Recursive Graph-State Cryptographic Authentication With Traversal-Dependent State Evolution.
Inventors include M. Ranjith Kumar; Aditya Arnav; Rudra Pratap; and Kavyan Virendra Jain.
The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.
Abstract: The present disclosure proposes a system (100) and method employing dual-secret state derivation, continuous-stream weighted graph construction and traversal, traversal-dependent feed-forward graph generation, and independent client-server reconstruction, thereby enabling synchronized one-time password generation and verification while retaining intermediate graph and traversal states locally. The system (100) comprises an authenticator client (102), a first graph-state construction subsystem (112), a first traversal subsystem (114), a second graph-state construction and traversal stage (120), a transcript-generation subsystem (116), a recursive feed- forward subsystem (118), a one-time password generation subsystem (122), and an authentication server (124) with a verification subsystem (132). Graph states are derived using an authentication key K (104), a device-bound secret S (106), a session nonce N (140), and a device identifier D (142), while an authentication identifier (136) and a numeric one-time password (138) are transmitted for verification.
