Abstract: The present system discloses a system and method for real-time smart traffic optimization using an Adaptive Traffic Graph Optimization Method (ATGOM) and a Hybrid Data Structure Assisted Traffic Graph Optimization Technique (HDS-TGOT). The system models an urban transportation network as a dynamically weighted graph constructed from traffic information obtained through GPS-enabled vehicles, IoT sensors, smart traffic signals, and surveillance systems. The proposed framework employs hybrid data structures including Fibonacci heaps, segment trees, union-find structures, and dynamic priority queues to efficiently process large- scale traffic data. An Intelligent Route Optimization Technique (IROT) computes congestion-aware routes using adaptive shortest-path algorithms, while a Dynamic Traffic Update Technique (DTUT) updates only affected graph regions during traffic incidents. A Predictive Congestion Forecasting Technique (PCFT) further forecasts future traffic conditions using historical and real-time data. The invention reduces travel time, fuel consumption, and congestion while improving routing accuracy, scalability, and computational efficiency for smart city transportation management systems.
