Abstract: ABSTRACT A System and Method for Real-Time Guided Endodontic Access Preparation with Intelligent Tissue Sensing The present invention discloses a method and device for performing guided endodontic access preparation in real-time. The device consists of a rotating cutting tool with an embedded localized impedance sensor designed to collect electrical signals from the dental tissue while drilling is in progress. The information collected by the sensor is processed by a signal processor to discriminate among enamel, dentin, pulp, and sub-surface anatomy based on impedance properties at multiple frequencies. The device also consists of a feedback generator that provides real-time visual cues according to the detected tissue status and a safety control unit for generating warnings on detecting critical limits.
