Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a system (102) and a method (200) for providing voice control to an electronic device. The system (102) receives a command from a client device corresponding to a voice input provided by a user and processes the command to identify a requested control operation associated with the electronic device. A controller (104) retrieves a control code corresponding to the requested control operation from a command repository, generates a control signal based on the retrieved control code, and transmits the generated control signal to the electronic device using a control communication protocol to perform the requested control operation. The controller (104) further receives one or more subsequent voice-derived commands, identifies corresponding control operations, retrieves additional control codes, and generates additional control signals for continuous control of the electronic device. The disclosed system enables hands-free operation of remote- controlled electronic devices, including televisions, set-top boxes, and direct-to-home receivers, thereby eliminating dependence on manual remote-control operation while facilitating convenient voice-based device control.
