MUMBAI, India, Aug. 10 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611074341 A) filed by Upes on June 16, 2026, for A System And Method For Producing Irrigation-Compatible Liquid Bio-Fertilizer From Invasive Weed Biomass.

Abstract: The invention relates to agricultural bio-input processing. In this, collected flowered, unflowered, rooted, and uprooted biomass, optionally with other Himalayan weeds and decomposable plant residues, is chopped by a mechanical cutter and composted in a 500-liter composting tank under a natural tree shed with cow dung, cow urine, and jaggery added at 2 kg per 500 liters, for about one month in summer and slightly more in winter, to form a slurry. The slurry is gravity-filtered through a vertical filtration tank of aluminium or food-grade plastic having six sequential chambers containing plastic mesh, large stones, small stones and pebbles, fine stones, sand, and sand with soil/mud. The filtered liquid is then retained in a secondary tank for 15-20 days to release methane and other volatile or toxic gases before use in sprinklers or drip irrigation systems.
