Abstract: The present invention relates to a system and method for non-invasive detection of variations in biological tissue composition using microwave electromagnetic signals is disclosed. At least one transmitting antenna transmits an electromagnetic signal toward a target region of a user at a predetermined frequency, and at least one receiving antenna receives a modified electromagnetic signal resulting from interaction with biological tissues within the target region. A processing unit determines at least one of a reflection coefficient, a transmission coefficient, or a resonant frequency shift from the received signal, and correlates the variations in the determined parameter with reference electromagnetic response patterns stored in a memory unit to identify variations in tissue composition, enabling real-time, non-invasive grading without exposure to ionizing radiation.
